Ashtanga Open is the method developed by the founders of YogaNow. It is a practice rooted in the Ashtanga tradition, but adapted to fit each and every one of our beloved students’ needs, becoming an informed, accessible, and joyful practice.

We are an experienced bunch of teachers who have assembled a high-quality curriculum. We will personally guide you through your journey to becoming a yoga teacher and will offer you the tools you will need to succeed.

With us, one hour means one contact hour, the 200hrs do not include homework or breaks.

History and Philosophy 

Understanding the past of modern postural yoga and the philosophical background that guides the practice

Alignment and Adjustment 

We will be learning how to safely adjust and adapt practice to fit all students’ needs


Anatomy is crucial in ensuring that no harm is caused to oneself or others in the course of this healing practice


To supplement asana practice we will be learning meditation practices that you can apply in your practice or teaching

Practice, practice, practice

Each day will commence with practice that will energise you through the day

Gaining confidence before a class 

Our practice teach session will help you find your voice and prepare you to confidently present yourself before others

The Ashtanga Method 

We will be exploring the Ashtanga method in-depth, both in it’s traditional form and through the lens of Ashtanga Open

Learning to apply and teach Pranayama techniques

Diversifying your Teaching 

With elements of Yin Yoga, Open Flow, Second Series

Aside registering for the full 200hr training, practitioners that would like to gain a deeper understanding of yoga for their own personal practice, will have an opportunity to apply to the 50hr Experienced Practitioner Training or the 30hr Anatomy Training separately. For those registering for the 200hr training, these modules are included.

**with the current corona pandemic there is some uncertainty as to whether we will be able to meet for our sessions in person. If the restrictions will not allow us to do so, we will aim to offer our training online or reimburse your paid fees should you wish to no longer join.
