Sophie Karbjinski
Born and raised in Berlin, is a yogini, performance artist, shape shifter, modern mystic and embodied spiritual researcher, constantly finding new ways to break free from limiting structures for continued healing and growth. She is also currently completing a Master of Arts in International Relations at FU, HU and Uni Potsdam.
Feeling mysteriously drawn towards Buddhism, Hinduism and Yoga already as a young girl, she read books on these topics and self-identified as a buddhist in primary school. Yoga continuously dropped into her life more frequently in her teen years, as her practice intensified and became more regular. She finally started her first 200 hr Medical Yoga teacher training in 2018. A year later she traveled to Ubud, Bali for a 200 hr Vinyasa teacher training.
Since then, she discovered the Jivamukti method, in which she completed the 75hr Spiritual Warrior training in 2020, the 300hr training in 2022 and in 2023 completed the 500hr JTAP (Jivamukti Teacher Apprentice Program) with her mentor Juan Sierra – making her a 800hr certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher.
She feels deeply that Yoga is lived in everyday life and not just on the mat. It is a philosophical approach to life that includes the body and physical practice, but is not complete solely as such. Yoga is the liberation of the small self from delusion and the illusion of separateness. Yoga is developing and eternally deepening the devotional relationship of Self to Source and the realisation of unity consciousness.
